UK’s National Crime Agency calls for regulation of ‘crypto mixers’: Monero

Hardly surprising news of course, but I thought this article was quite interesting as it acknowledges that:

“Transactions on blockchains are normally easy to track because of the nature of the technology, which is publicly visible on a distributed ledger.”

“Anyone can check a blockchain explorer application and discover a watertight record of all the bitcoin transactions ever processed since it was first conceived in January 2009.”

“There are centralized mixers, such as, and these companies could give up their records in an audit and reveal users’ interconnected transactions.”

So I thought this article might be useful for people to show to anyone who still believes that Bitcoin is private, or that it can be made 100% private by using any coin mixer.
