And the new Time’s Up app! is a visual timer that parents and kids will enjoy using.
The app offers five unique styles to choose from. Reveal uses a photo from your Photo Library while the timer is ticking. Pixelate makes a photo clearer the closer you get to the end.
Puzzle will break a photo into a puzzle, then slowly put the pieces together as time goes on.
You can also choose from more traditional clock faces.
All timers can be personalized with a specific alert sound and color.
All timers use iCloud sync and can appear on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
On iPhone or iPad, you can easily use Guided Access so kids can’t change apps or timer without your passcode.
I used the app this summer during beta testing, and it was a big help for my 10 year old son with autism. We’ve used a simple iPhone timer before to help her train to wait, but the different options in Time’s Up! were a great success.
He really likes being able to select a photo to use, and when using Guided Access, you can hand over an iPhone or iPad without having to worry about turning off the timer. Being available on Mac and Apple TV is also a big plus.
Time’s Up is free download from the app store. It is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
An in-app purchase of $ 2.99 unlocks the ability to run an unlimited number of timers.
