SMU football picks up five-star WR rookie Jordan Hudson, No. 12 prospect in 2022 class

high school got a five-star wide receiver engagement Jordan hudson Sunday, making him the highest-ranked SMU prospect since ESPN began ranking in 2006.

Hudson is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver from Garland High School, Texas. He ranked the hope No.12 overall and was among the best Alabama, SMU and Texas.

He was committed to Oklahoma, But disengaged in June and reopened its recruitment. Hudson visited SMU in June, as well as Texas, but the Mustangs ultimately won.

The talented receiver tallied 1,285 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns in his second season, followed by 808 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in eight games in his junior season. His engagement gives SMU six total engagements and one ESPN 300 engagement.

Coach Sonny Dykes and his team were able to sign ESPN 300 quarterback Preston Stone, who had a list of offers similar to Hudson’s, in the 2021 class. Stone is from Dallas and was previously the signing. best ranked for SMU at No. 121 overall.

Now Hudson joins fellow receivers CJ Nelson and Savion Reed, as well as offensive tackles Cory Hendrix and Quinton Harris and defensive end Michael Ibukun-Okeyode, in the 2022 class.
