Purdue to Host ASTA Management Micro-Course Series for Food and Agribusiness Professionals


WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University Food and Agricultural Affairs Center will offer the ASTA Management Micro-Course Series on different dates in March and April. The series offers short live interactive online sessions for food and agribusiness professionals.

Micro-courses provide participants with access to engaging content, tools that are immediately applicable to their work, and the ability to engage directly with fellow participants and faculty in a safe, travel-free manner. The ASTA (American Seed Trade Association) Management Micro-Course Series offers four development tracks that participants can choose from: Leadership and Development (March 19), Business Strategy (March 26), Sales and Marketing (2 April) and financial management (April 8). Participants can select the development track that suits them or register for more than one track at a reduced rate. Each development track includes two micro-courses.

“We are truly delighted with the opportunity for participants to be able to personalize their learning experience through the four avenues of development offered in this series of micro-courses,” said Allan Gray, director general of the center and professor of agricultural economics. “Although the ASTA Management Micro-Course Series has been designed in place of the ASTA 2021 face-to-face Management Academy that we traditionally run, these courses are not limited to professionals in the management industry. seeds. Anyone in the food and agrifood industry interested in developing their skills in the various fields we cover will benefit from these courses and are invited to register.

In addition to Gray, faculty presenters are Brady Brewer, assistant professor of agricultural economics; Scott downey, director of the center and professor of agricultural economics; and Pete hammett, visiting professor of agricultural economics.

To ensure a high level of interaction with teachers, limited places per development track are available. Registration is required at least one week before the date of the track chosen by the participants.

The price for each development track is $ 495. A $ 100 discount will be given to those who register for two tracks, and a $ 200 discount for those who register for all four tracks. Learn more and register.
