Prince William wishes England football team “good luck” against Italy


Prince William sent the England football team “the best of luck” on Sunday as players headed to the Euro 2020 final in London.

The Duke of Cambridge, who is president of the English Football Association, posted the video message to Instagram praising team manager Gareth Southgate and the players ahead of the game against Italy.

“What a team performance that has been, every member of the team has played their part,” he said in the video.

“I just wish you the best of luck. You bring out the best of England and we are all behind you, the whole country is behind you so bring it home.

This match will be England’s first tournament final since 1966 when they won the World Cup.

Queen Elizabeth wished Southgate the best on Saturday in a message posted on Instagram.

“I want to extend my congratulations to you and my family on reaching the final of the European Championships, and send you my best wishes for tomorrow with the hope that history will record not only your success but also the spirit, dedication and pride with which you conducted yourself, ”she wrote.
