the Philadelphia Philly right-handed striped Aaron Nola of his departure scheduled for Sunday against the Boston Red Sox after being placed on the COVID-related injured list.
Nola was one of four players placed on the Phillies’ virus-related injury list on Sunday. Third baseman Alec bohm, right-handed Connor brogdon and left-handed Bailey Falter were also included on the list.
Falter recorded victory in the Phillies’ 11-2 win against the Red Sox at Fenway Park on Saturday, pitching two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Bohm went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs and Brogdon pitched a scoreless ninth inning in the win.
The Phillies recalled lefties Damon Jones and Christopher Sanchez, right-hander Mauricio Llovera and triple-A Lehigh Valley infielder Nick Maton in matching moves.
The Phillies have yet to name a replacement starter for Nola, who is 6-5 with a 4.53 ERA this season.
