Galatasaray vs Marseille – Report of the football match – 25th November 2021

Galatasaray reached the knockout stages of the Europa League with a thrilling 4-2 home win over Marseilles Thursday which eliminated the Ligue 1 team from the European second division competition.

Cheered on by a fervent home crowd, Galatasaray took the lead in the 12th minute as Alexandru Cicaldau rifled in a shot from 15 yards before Duje Caleta-Car transformed the Romanian’s low center into his own net.

Sofiane feghouli made 3-0 with a tap-in before Arkadiusz Milik Withdrew one when he scored on the rebound after Mulsera parried the Polish striker’s penalty.

Ryan babel scored Galatasaray’s fourth with a sublime finish and Milik’s late header was little consolation for Marseille.

Lazio joined the Turkish squad from Group E after two Ciro Immobile penalties helped the Italians to a 3-0 win at Lokomotiv Moscow, while Bayer Leverkusen Group G advanced after a 3-2 home roller coaster victory over Celtic, who were knocked out of the competition.

Somewhere else, Leicester City beat Legia Warsaw 3-1 on Thursday to jump from the bottom to the top of Group C and keep their hopes of reaching the round of 16 alive.

The Premier League team have eight points in five games, one more than Spartak Moscow and Naples and two ahead of Legia, with the four teams still vying to advance before the last round of matches.

Patson daka shot Leicester in the lead in the 10th minute with a clinical finish and James maddison made it 2-0 with a superb shot on the corner before Filip Mladenovic pulled one away for Legia.

Mladenovic swept a rebound after Kasper Schmeichel saved Mahir Emreli’s penalty but Wilfred Ndidi, who delivered the free kick, made amends with a towering header from Maddison’s corner in the 33rd minute.

Rangers qualified for the knockout stages of Group A with one game to play after Alfredo Morelos scored twice to secure a 2-0 home victory over Sparta Prague, as they joined the runaway group leaders Lyon.

The Colombian forward opened the scoring in the 15th minute and added the second in the 49th with a header into an empty net as he intercepted a bad pass from Sparta defender Filip Panak in his own zone.

Lyonnais remained in the lead after two goals from Ryan cherki and another by Islam Slimani | gave them a 3-1 victory over Danish side Brondby.

Monaco advanced from Group B with a 2-1 home win over Real company as goals of Kevin Volland and Youssouf Fofana canceled Alexander isaaceffort for visitors.
