“Once we have received all relevant documents and evidence from the Attorney General, we will act quickly and seek to complete our impeachment inquiry as quickly as possible. “

The Assembly Judiciary Committee, which is leading the impeachment inquiry, meets on Monday.

An insider told The Post that Heastie spoke to Cuomo before releasing the statement, telling him the Democratic conference had turned on him. But Cuomo said he was not going anywhere, the source said.

Assembly members described the virtual meeting on Cuomo’s fate as long, with many lawmakers speaking out against the governor.

A member of the assembly said that “not a single voice of support” was cast in favor of Cuomo.

“I think we are all in shock at the report because most of us were not expecting it today… dozens spoke,” the lawmaker said.

In addition to allegations of sexual harassment, the Assembly is also investigating Cuomo’s handling of nursing home deaths during the coronavirus pandemic, allegations he used state resources to prepare his COVID book contract. -19 of $ 5.1 million, among others.
