TEMPE, Arizona – The Arizona Cardinals had three positive COVID-19 tests this week, ESPN NFL Insider source Dan Graziano told ESPN, putting the team to a positive test away from going into intensive protocols.
That would mean more testing for multiple players and staff.
linebacker of the cardinals Chandler Jones was put on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Tuesday due to testing positive. Coach Kliff Kingsbury said on Wednesday that Jones was symptomatic.
Since being vaccinated, for Jones to return to the Cardinals, he must undergo two negative tests 24 hours apart and be asymptomatic for 48 hours.
“The guys are just trying to hide and we have the test to make sure the guys are ready to go”, right tackle Kelvin Beachum noted. “We’re just trying to do everything to make sure we’re safe. It’s unfortunate that someone of his caliber is testing positive at this crossroads of the season, having the type of season he’s having, but as a ‘team, we just have to find a way to stay safe and make sure there is no spread in the locker room and in the building. “
